A new book celebrating the late Jimi Hendrix's 80th birthday (November 27) hit shelves on Tuesday (November 8). Jimmy, sister of guitar legend Janie Hendrix and described by John McDermott of Experience Hendrix LLC as a visual ode to "the greatest guitarist in rock 'n' roll history."
The 320-page book retails for $50 (although it's on sale for $42.40) and features rare and never-before-published Hendrix photos, personal memorabilia, lyrics, and more. Quotes from Paul McCartney, Ron Wood, Jeff Beck, Lenny Kravitz, Drake, Dave Grohl and others about Hendrix's musical influence are available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Target and Chronicle Books.

Born in Seattle, Nov. 27, 1942, got his first guitar at the age of 15. He enlisted in the military before starting his music career and became known for classics like 'Purple Haze' and 'Vodoo Child (Slow Return)'. Hendrix headlined the first Woodstock festival before his life was tragically cut short in 1969 at the age of 27.
